OFFICIAL UNVEILING OF THE GREETS GREEN RESOURCE CENTRE

Greets Green Resource Centre in Harwood Street was officially unveiled by Lord King of West Bromwich on Wednesday 21st December. The Centre is a partnership initiative between the Sandwell Council, Confederation of Bangladeshi Organisations and the Big Lottery Fund dedicated to providing a One-Stop-Shop facility for all communities in Sandwell.

This modern facility, located in the heart of the Greets Green community, will provide services and activities including a youth club, skills and vocational training, health and fitness club, conference and meeting facilities, and crèche and child care.

The launch ceremony was attended by local dignitaries, community workers and members of the public. Leader of the Council, Darren Cooper, Chief Executive of Sandwell, Jan Britton and Coucillor John Edwards addressed the attendees and spoke about how the new Centre is a vital resource for the community at a time of other service and spending cuts.
