Welcome to our February Newsletter
Dear Parents / Guardians, As we break up for half term, I would like to thank you all for your support, care and understanding during our first half term of 2022. It has been a difficult time for everyone – but working together has strengthened our partnership and developed our resilience which in turn has enabled us to face each challenge together. Thank you. Let’s now begin to look forward to the joy of springtime with its lighter mornings and evenings. I hope you have a restful and healthy half term.
Through play, discussions and stories, the children will be learning about: People Who Help
They will learn about: – The role and purpose of people who help us in the community for example fire fighter, doctors, nurses and police officers. – Develop caring, nurturing, kind and empathetic skills. – Identify and name equipment and resources— stethoscope, stretcher, patient, ladder, hose, siren, fire extinguisher. – Develop early mathematical concepts through play e.g. sorting and matching equipment, counting skills, e.g. 2 spoons of medicine, 1—1 correspondence, 1 bed, 1 patient, measurement concepts and language e.g. long/short bandage. – Develop an awareness of shape within our environment. – Learn the name of body parts and develop early concepts about the names of body parts.
Winter Weather We will be encouraging the children to use outdoors, so please ensure that your child is dressed appropriately with hats, gloves and scarves in order to benefit from all-weather experiences as the opportunities arise
