CBO is a member of Sandwell Consortium who are one of 29 organisations in
CBO is a delivery partner of The Sandwell Language Network (SLN) this provides a programme of free, community-based English language learning support across the borough. The 2022-23 programme, SLN 2, builds on the success of the first SLN programme and aims to tackle health and economic inequalities, reduce isolation and promote community cohesion through basic language skills learning across Sandwell.
‘SLN 2’, runs from November 2022 till July 2023, and:
CBO will be delivering the pre-entry ESOL classes in the Greets Green Resource Centre, to meet the needs of our community and plug the gap in basic language skills provision
We will be supporting language learners to
Access health and wellbeing support, and improve health literacy.
Be better able to find work and to progress within work, through ‘employability booster’ sessions alongside language learning
Access IT as part of their language learning
Interact more confidently with local services
Connect with people in their neighbourhood
Access advice, wellbeing, and employability services in local centres
Access wider community learning opportunities and progress to courses with Sandwell Adult and Family Learning, Sandwell College and other education and training providers
The SLN 2 programme is mainly funded by Sandwell Council Public Health with additional support from the Council’s Employment and Skills Team. It is managed by Sandwell Consortium.
